Review by Cydnee Green "C. Green" : Graco Black and White Playard 5 Star

I bought this playard for my grand daughter. It is BEYOND CUTE! It was a little confusing to put together, but SO worth it. I definitely recommend this for your baby girl. It's very solidly built and I'm sure will last a very long time.

Review by K. Box : Reliable product 4 Star

I've taken this on multiple trips & keep it out in our bedroom for daily use of the diaper changing station & sometimes for baby's naps. Been using it since the baby came home from the hospital & it works beautifully. I'm a little annoyed at the cheapness of the diaper stacker attachment.....the adhesive they used was cheap & no matter what we do it keeps falling off! I wish the changing station was placed slightly higher or there was a height adjustment for those of us that are taller.

Setting up to take on trips is easy. It can be a little bit of a pill to unpack, usually I have the husband do it as you kind of have to strong arm it, but its very sturdy & all the setup/teardown it has endured doesn't look to have made it worse for the wear.

Review by E. Barrett : Save the box 3 Star

We purchased this bassinet and are getting a lot of use out of it. We have it set up on our first floor while our baby's room is on the second floor which allows us to change her diaper without going upstairs and set her down while we do dishes, etc. Our baby loves the vibrating aspect of this product. We loved that it can serve many purposes, will be useful as she grows, looks cute, and had the potential to be portable (take to grandma's house, vacation home, etc.).

Our problem with this product is that setting it up the first couple of times went fine but are now having problems to the point that we're afraid that if we break it down we won't be able to set it back up, defeating the purpose of it being portable. We may have a defective product and if I kept the box, I would try and exchange it for another.

When you set it up, the four side bars are folded in half, you take two parallel sides by the middle handles, lift up, hear it click and they lock in place. Then you do the same with the last two parallel sides. After breaking this product down and setting it up a couple of times, we are having difficulty getting the sides to lock and are finding ourselves wrestling with it, getting one side to lock, moving to the other side and watch it fall a part again. Frustrating to say the least. Again, it might just be a bit of a lemon but I'd save the box until you've set it up a half a dozen times. I generally keep a box until a product has shown to work the first time but regret that I didn't keep it longer in this case.

Review by Kailie : Set up is difficult 3 Star

We got this for the bassinet for our daughter. Setting it up was very difficult and confusing. It seemed that we were missing pieces. The instructions were very vague as well. Not very happy about that, and we think something broke on the bottom when we tried to get it to open all the way. It is cute, and the reviews I saw were good, but I don't think it's a very good design.

I spent way to much time researching these things. This one has everything and everything works great. Very easy to set up. Changing table is awesome, no complaints.

Review by KNSudha : Very pleasant looking bassinet and changing table 4 Star

Pros --
Its a very pleasant color, chocolate brown, with a light blue green print. Doesn't look busy/glaringly out of place in our kitchen or our living room which have traditional cabinetry.

This townsend model comes with a vibration feature which is nice if your baby likes it. You may want to figure out whether a mobile, a play arch with toys or the vibration feature are most attractive for your infant and pick the model accordingly. I picked vibration, since you can always add a tiny love play arch later.

The changing table on this model is at a nice height if you are petite, its a bit low for my husband who is just about 6 ft tall.

Cons -- The music and white noise selections are inaudible. I have the matching swing, where this actually works for comparison.

There is very inadequate storage. My arms reach co-sleeper playard/bassinet for e.g. has nice pockets on four sides where you can stash extra blankies, changes of clothes, diapers etc. but of course doesn't have the nice changing table. The two pockets on the changing table just about hold 3 -4 diapers on one side. a travel size pack of wipes, and maybe a tube of desitin / baby lotion / powder on the other side. Totally inadequate to use as a self contained changing station.

Review by KYP : C-Section MUST 5 Star

At first I was irritated that my husband wanted this pack and play when any other would do and we probably wouldn't use it for more than a few months. SO WRONG! We've had it for over a year and we're still using it.

Why this is a must have...
A little background: I had a c-section, my son was delivered early. I gained a ton of weight so after delivering the baby, my body had to readjust (hips, back, everything) since the weight was redistributed.

The bassinet addition made picking my son up easy - I didn't have to bend over (I didn't want to anyways to avoid ripping my stitches, and I was so sore that bending over was very uncomfortable). The changing table is elevated enough that I could change him standing up (I'm 5'3") AND all the basics were within reach. Diaper stack held enough that we only had to refill once a day. The 2 little cubbies were used to hold his mittens, thermometer probe, powder & rash cream (in case we need it) and the part for the wipes were so small that we stored q-tips to clean his umbilical cord.

The vibrating function was AMAZING! It helped put our baby to sleep, the music was soothing. Batteries lasted long enough that it wasn't annoying to have to change it. We used those 2 functions almost ALL the time to get him through his naps and bed time - I think we changed our batteries once a month.

Complaints:
The thing is hard to move. Our doorways are tight and the idea of pushing this from room to room just seemed ridiculous. Beyond doorways, we'd have to navigate it around our household furniture - just not practical. And collapsing it to move it was just cumbersome.

The wipes storage - it held at most like 15-20 wipes - which isn't much when he's going through 12 diapers a day. We had a box of wipes on the changing table since it's pretty roomy.

The diaper holder kept coming off - the sticky on the velcro were useless. We bought industrial strength velcro and held it in place.

The canopy - once it's on, it's hard to reach your baby. It's HUGE! and kinda annoying to get staying up.

Other Info:
It's recommended that you stop using the basinet at 15lbs but depending on your baby's skills - I'd suggest not using that once they can roll over. Not that they could roll off - but you never know.

Strongly recommend getting several sheets - when one is the wash, you don't have to wait for it to put it on - especially if it's right around nap time.

Very easy to clean - a wet towel, done. The mesh part takes a little bit longer.

My son still sleeps in his pack and play. He's a little over a year old and has only slept in his crib once for a nap. (I know they don't recommend this for sleeping), but it's the only place he enjoys, and I feel safe leaving him. The mesh is breathable while in a crib, I'm worried he'll get stuck in between the railings. It's sturdy. It's easy on the eyes.

Definitely worth the $$ we've paid. If we had to get a PNP now (at his age), I'd definitely get a plain one without the bells the whistles. But all those perks are a necessity with a newborn.

Review by Taylor M. Demaio : Must Have for a stylish mom!! 5 Star

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Even sleeker in person. This pack n play is so durable! My three year old wild man uses it as a fort (until the baby arrives next month) He weighs 30lbs and i have no concerns about him in it. I returned my EXPENSIVE eddie bauer pack n play and i am SO GLAD that I did. There is NO COMPARISON! Graco is by far the way to go. I now have graco everything. This is my second child and i have learned to just go with graco. You are always satisfied. (their customer service is amazing) ONLY FLAW is that there is nowhere to put the changing table and bassinet when traveling and that the shade dosn't come off. It is attached to the bassinet (and mine is all crooked from shipping. Amazon is wonderful and so is the fab pack n play! BUY IT< NOW!

Review by Jennifer Duvall : LOVE it 4 Star

I absolutely love this product. Since my daughter was born, this is the only thing she'll sleep in. I have a rather large, two-story house, and her bedroom is upstairs -- mine is down. Since we didn't want to put her all the way upstairs to begin with, we planned for her to sleep in a bassinett in our bedroom for the first few months. But she hated it. We had already purchased this pack & play to keep in our great room -- for diaper changes & naps. When we realized this was her favorite place to sleep, we started letting her sleep there at night too. Three months later, she still sleeps there.

The diaper changing station is perfect. She's about 14 pounds now, and she still fits great, with lots of room to grow. The diaper stacker is great for having those on hand, but the wipes holder is pretty useless -- they get dried out too fast. But we use a wipes warmer anyway, so this wasn't a problem for us. The two mesh "cups" on the changing station are great for holding necessities -- pacifiers, lotion, medicines, etc.

The sleeping part of the pack & play is fantastic. Its surface is quilted for comfort, but it's made of a fabric that wipes up easily. The vibrator function is a lifesaver, although ours has gotten noticably louder over the months we've used it. It used to be very quiet, but now it almost rattles -- even with new batteries. But it's not that big of a deal. She loves this feature. The console also features many other functions -- music, nature noises, lights -- but we haven't really used any of those.

My husband put it together, and it was somewhat complicated, but that's to be expected for such a large product. We haven't attempted to take it down and move it.

I recommend this product highly. It's more expensive than most other pack & plays, but it's very functional and so attractive. I have the entire Rittenhouse line -- it's great for both girls & boys, and its pattern is classic -- no cutesy flowers, owls, animals, etc. It looks great in my home and we get lots of comments about how pretty it is.
